Academic internship in your own or others’ startup

Are you curious about life as an entrepreneur or have you already started to develop your own business? Do an academic internship in others’ or your own startup:

  • You will get a unique opportunity to test your academic knowledge in practice.
  • You can get ECTS credits for the internship.
  • You will enter the engine room and take part in all phases from idea development to execution.
  • You will become part of the everyday life in one of the three UCPH Innovation Hubs with free office facilities, network and consultancy.

How an internship works

When you do an academic internship in your own or others’ startup, you must be a member of one of the three UCPH Innovation Hubs. Membership is free of charge.

As part of the process, you must also participate in one of the three hubs’ workshops for students in startups. At the workshop, you will be introduced to methods, literature and models for working with innovation and entrepreneurship in practice, and you will get tools for participating in and analysing the company’s process from idea to business.

How do I get started?

If you are interested in doing an academic internship in either your own or others’ startup, please contact one of the three UCPH Innovation Hubs to learn more. The three hubs can help you find out whether you can do an academic internship with ECTS credits as part of your degree programme.

If you have an idea that you would like to test out or if you have already created a company that you would like to further develop, you can do an academic internship in your own company.

Your idea must be linked to the knowledge, methods or skills of your degree programme. When you have your idea ready, you must apply for pre-approval from your degree programme.

How can I participate?

  • You need to have the opportunity to do a project in practice/an academic internship in your own business idea according to your curriculum.
  • You must do an academic internship/project in practice during the same block/semester that you wish to participate in workshops.
  • You must receive pre-approval from your degree programme.
